New York vibraphonist Ted Piltzecker returns to Denver for a follow-up of his 2023 release, Vibes on a Breath, this time though in an open quartet setting with his vibes brought to the front, adding inspired interplay with virtuoso trumpeter Brad Goode while also supplying the group's harmonic palette through his 4-mallet comping and counterpoint. Along with drummer Paul Romaine and bassist Gonzalo Teppa, Piltzecker brought in percussionists Vinicius Barros and Hugo Alcazar from Brazil and Peru, providing surprising rhythmic textures to classic jazz standards such as "I Remember Clifford" and a Latin-tinged "In a Sentimental Mood." Piltzecker's work transports to an alluring musical world where every note is infused with a personal touch.

Tomasz Ritter, winner of the Bruges Festival Competition 2024, here follows the traditional overview of Beethoven’s musical language and devotes his recital to three sonatas drawn from the three creative periods: op. 2/1 (1795), op. 31/3 (1802) and op. 109 (1820). Ritter has also chosen three instruments that are close to those Beethoven played and reflect the evolution of piano construction: two Viennese instruments copied from originals by Anton Walter and Nanette Streicher, and an original Broadwood piano that is almost identical to the one the famous English piano maker gave the composer.

The concept behind our present undertaking, the Mozart Piano Concertos CD trilogy, is to present a range of concertos from Mozart’s various compositional and performing periods, styles, techniques and instrumentations. Our endeavour is also linked with an encore-like single work on each CD, namely a Rondo. The additional connecting link between these six piano concertos is the Cadenzas & Lead-ins which Lazić has composed himself. Here he was inspired by the common practice of the composer’s day.
