Poulenc (1899-1963) was a pianist himself, and composed solo piano pieces the whole of his artistic life, from the early Trois mouvements perpétuels of 1918, when he was 19 years old, to the third Novelette and last Improvisation of 1959, both included on this CD, not long before his death. When he was 15, his mother had found for him the ideal and congenial piano teacher in the Catalan pianist Ricardo Viñes, who became his mentor and encouraged the young Poulenc in every way.

Anything Is Possible is the latest collection of original material (and one affectionate cover) from North Carolina songwriter / vocalist / guitarist / producer Chris Stamey, an indie rock icon with a storied long and illustrious history that's encompassed co-founding seminal avant-pop band the dBs, playing with Alex Chilton in the 70s and more recently with Jody Stephens's Big Star Quintet, and recording with the all-star smart-pop outfit the Salt Collective. The album was produced by Stamey at Modern Recording in Chapel Hill, NC.

Luca Petrosino: I still remember that day, when I went to that music store (now it is unfortunately closed), and saw a mandolin. I was looking for some 'ethnic tunes' for my first album as a songwriter and that tiny instrument caught my attention. I ended up buying it and immediately started to study it on my own. Eventually, I got hooked on its musicality and decided to study it at school.

There is both seriousness and ecstasy on Moksha's second album. There are complex and virtuosic moments, but it also feels like music that arose from the simplest of all starting points, the play between three good fellow musicians. The trio's unique interplay began back in 2012, when they were still students and met to experiment with rhythm, raga and jazz. In 2024, the singer and songwriter Oum celebrates her fifteen-year career with a live album recorded in Marrakech, which plunges back into the magic of her three flagship records, here revisited in a different light. This seventh album, named Dakchi, which means "those things," is the opportunity for this daring off-roader to allow herself a suspended moment for a temporary assessment, a return to her roots. Dakchi is the first best-of live album, in which Oum brings together around ten titles from her repertoire woven throughout three albums with identities as singular as they are filled with a common sap: "Soul of Morocco" (2013), "Zarabi" (2015), and "Daba" (2019).
