Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones are a production and DJ duo who played a significant role in the late-'90s commercialization of trance, though they went on to be known as much for their remixes and eclectic downtempo material. Beginning with 1997 single "Sunrise," they began releasing upbeat, euphoric tracks which appealed to clubs as well as pop radio, and they scored major hits with songs like 1999's "Cream" and 2002's "The Hardest Heart."

Trance duo Blank & Jones recruit pianist Marcus Loeber in these pensive works to guide in rest and reflection. “Le Grand Bleu” has all the hallmarks of a great pop song—stirring melodies and strong accompaniment—and its chilled tempo makes it perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day.

2014 two album set curated by Techno duo Blank & Jones. ZTT is the label from superstar producer Trevor Horn and was founded in 1983 together with Paul Morley and Jill Sinclair. The label's mix of perfect Pop music, new recording and sound technologies, great artwork and marketing gave artists like Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Propaganda and the Art of Noise the perfect home to conquer the world.

A famous German trance duo from the end of the ‘90s, Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones spent a good deal of their weekends in Noderney, a small German island and the oldest seaside resort in the North Sea. They would usually mix on the terrace at Milchbar, overlooking the Unesco-recognised dunes. The wild landscape inspired Blank & Jones to create a series of mixes and this year they’re serving up season 12. The compilation album sounds like a bit like a soundtrack to a northern dolce vita, kicking off with two downtempo tracks: Crosswinds and the synth-soaked track High Fly. The tracklist also includes sweet synthpop from the French group Sixtine with L’Exactitude, an extract from their album Sweet Sixteen in 2014, as well as Franco de Mulero and Osvaldo Carreira’s Spanish guitars. The record veers towards ambient music at the end, with two interventions from Copenhagen-based producer The Swan & The Lake who reveals a remix of Desire for his hosts of the day, leaving the closing track to sunset-specialist Chris Coco, a British DJ who sets the mood in the Ibizas and Italian twilights - the ideal person to take Norderney from day to night. © Smaël Bouaici/Qobuz

Finally Blank & Jones announce the follow up to their 2017 clubland return #WhatWeDoAtNight. After making waves with the singles One, Two, Three/C in late 2019, they now announced the next full electronica album for early January 2020. It’s a fine re-definition of their club-roots combining melodic techno with trance elements. Not retro but here and now the sound of 2020. The album will be available in three formats: (a) the original versions, (b) the extended versions, © a non-stop mixed club experience.
