Amon Tobin drops Nomark Selects, Vol. 2. The maestro of experimental electronic music and sound design connoisseur Amon Tobin is back with a compilation of the songs that were previously available only via paid subscription to his label, Nomark.

One of the most inventive musicians of his generation, Mark Guiliana presents questions (volume one), a deeply personal new album investigating the quiet tension of unresolved thought. Centered around the intimacy of a small upright piano and augmented with subtle electronics and detailed production, these nine “questions” unfold like a personal soundtrack guided by introspection and curiosity. A continuation of his Grammy-nominated 2024 release MARK, questions (volume one) marks a compelling step in Guiliana’s evolution as a composer and deep musical thinker, expanding his voice far beyond the drum kit into a space that is raw, textural, and unmistakably his own.

The Way Of Time takes loose inspiration from Elizabeth Madox Roberts’ novel The Time Of Man, sampling Joan Lorring’s voice from the 1951 radio play adaptation of the novel. Biosphere’s signature ambient loops, soothing arctic synths and melodies combine with Lorring’s sweet, wistful and deep-south wonderings to create a record that is both deeply human and searching. The record will be released via AD 93 on the 20th June 2025.

With only two singles to his name on the Seven B label and a couple more on Instant with Huey 'Piano' Smith, this album can only exist thanks to a deep dive into Charly's vast haul of Joe Banashak master tapes. The record in your hand not only includes Buck's super rare funk 45 'Little Boy Blue,' (now in glorious stereo) but six unreleased tracks.There are two instrumentals that were clearly set up to have vocals added, and whilst this didn't happen 'Untitled 1' is a great slice of funk in it's own right and 'Untitled 2' gives us a glimpse into what Huey Smith sounded like on electric piano. The two ballads 'Starting With Today' and 'If I Could Do It Over' are showcases for that great voice. Of the two remaining tracks 'Soul Brother, Soul Sister' sounds like it could have been a Huey's single, whilst 'I'm Your Little Chicken' is nothing less than an unreleased funk classic.

The English artist has carefully compiled the music selection and worked on the whole art direction of the products, including painting the cover artwork by hand.
