Latin superstar Marc Anthony took to social media on Tuesday, 30 April 2019 to announce the release of his upcoming album Opus, also revealing the album’s cover art.

The legendary Goldberg Variations are among the most frequently recorded Johann Sebastian Bach works; besides numerous versions for piano and harpsichord, there are recordings of transcriptions for other instruments, including the banjo.

The talented sisters return with an album of enjoyable classics, containing songs popular in France over the last 25 years. It Includes Halliday’s Que je t'aime, Gainsbourg’s La javanaise, and Brel’s Vesoul. Star guests are Madame Monsieur, Nicolas Fraissinet, and Insa Sane.

On her first PENTATONE album, Czech star mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená returns to the baroque repertoire that launched her early career. Il giardino dei sospiri is a collection of scenes from secular cantatas on tragic love, ranging from Handel’s Qual ti riveggio to new editions of works by Leo (Angelica e Medoro), Marcello (Arianna abbandonata) and Gasparini (Atalia). These vocal works are connected through instrumental pieces by Handel (sinfonia of Agrippina), Vinci (sinfonia from Maria dolorata) and Sarro.

On this album, we have juxtaposed the work of two musicians who, at a first glance, don't have anything in common. One is Jean Cras, captain of a french ship and a dilettante musician born at the turn of the twentieth century, the other is Ludwig van Beethoven, who needs no introduction. And yet, if we decided to use a looking glass and examine the threads that bind all human destiny together, we would realize that Cras read the works of Beethoven religiously before going on watch, and maybe this man who was subject to the whims of Mother Nature had found in the great composer a master who himself was used to great internal tempests.

It probably wasn't by design that Teedra Moses released her second proper album – this one – over a decade after Complex Simplicity. At a young age, cellist Jacqueline du Pre achieved mainstream popularity. She is regarded as one of the most distinctive cellists of the last half of the 20th century. Her career was cut short by a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis which stopped her performances at the age of 27. This release was recorded in November 1970 at the Medinah Temple in Chicago & contains Dvorak’s 3 movements: Allegro, Adagio ma non troppo & Finale: Allegro Moderato as well as the additional piece of music Silent Woods, Op. 68. This is a pure analogue tape recording re-mastered for SACD.
