Path Integral Approach to Quantum Physics: An Introduction (Repost)

Path Integral Approach to Quantum Physics: An Introduction by Gert Roepstorff
English | PDF | 1994 | 400 Pages | ISBN : 3540611061 | 31.8 MB

This book has been written twice. After having written and published it in German in 1990, I started allover again and rewrote the whole story for an English speaking audience. During the first round I received encouraging words and critical remarks from students and colleagues alike which have helped to sustain me the second time around. In the preface the author usually states that his or her book resulted from a course that he or she gave at some university. I cannot claim that the present book is any exception to the rule. But I expanded and remodelled the original material which circulated as a manuscript so that the printed version would follow a more stringent and coherent architectural plan. In doing so I have concentrated on the conceptual problems inherent in the path integral formalism rather than on certain highly specialized techniques used in applications. Nevertheless, I have also included those methods that are of fundamental interest and have treated specific problems mainly to illustrate them.

Quantum Approach to Informatics

Quantum Approach to Informatics by Stig Stenholm, Kalle-Antti Suominen
English | PDF(True) | 2005 | 249 Pages | ISBN : 0471736104 | 1.7 MB

An essential overview of quantum information
Information, whether inscribed as a mark on a stone tablet or encoded as a magnetic domain on a hard drive, must be stored in a physical object and thus made subject to the laws of physics. Traditionally, information processing such as computation occurred in a framework governed by laws of classical physics. However, information can also be stored and processed using the states of matter described by non-classical quantum theory. Understanding this quantum information, a fundamentally different type of information, has been a major project of physicists and information theorists in recent years, and recent experimental research has started to yield promising results.

Quantum Theory: Concepts and Methods

Quantum Theory: Concepts and Methods by Asher Peres
English | PDF (True) | 463 Pages | ISBN : 0792325494 | 4.5 MB

There are many excellent books on quantum theory from which one can learn to compute energy levels, transition rates, cross sections, etc. The theoretical rules given in these books are routinely used by physicists to compute observable quantities. Their predictions can then be compared with experimental data. There is no fundamental disagreement among physicists on how to use the theory for these practical purposes. However, there are profound differences in their opinions on the ontological meaning of quantum theory. The purpose of this book is to clarify the conceptual meaning of quantum theory, and to explain some of the mathematical methods which it utilizes.

Unlocking the Secrets of White Dwarf Stars By Hugh M. Van Horn
English | PDF | 335 Pages| 2015 | ISBN : 3319093681 | 8.6 MB

White dwarfs, each containing about as much mass as our Sun but packed into a volume about the size of Earth, are the endpoints of evolution for most stars.

Oscillator Representation in Quantum Physics

Oscillator Representation in Quantum Physics by M. Dineykhan
English | PDF | 1995 | 281 Pages | ISBN : 3540590854 | 10.8 MB

This book describes in detail the oscillator representation method and its application to an approximate solution of the Schrödinger equation with an appropriate interaction Hamiltonian. The method also works well in quantum field theory in the strong coupling regime in calculations of path integrals, as explained by the authors. Furthermore, spectral problems in quantum mechanics are treated.

Translation Group and Particle Representations in Quantum Field Theory

Translation Group and Particle Representations in Quantum Field Theory by Hans-Jürgen Borchers
English | PDF | 1996 | 143 Pages | ISBN : 3540611401 | 7.9 MB

This book presents a thorough and, indeed, the first systematic investigation of the interplay between the locality condition in configuration space and the spectrum condition in momentum space. The work is based on techniques from algebraic quantum theory and from complex analysis of several variables. The reader will first be made familiar with a set of basic axioms heuristically explained from first principles of quantum physics and will find the results presented in a systematic way. The book addresses researchers as well as graduate students.

Reverse Engineering the Mind: Consciously Acting Machines and Accelerated Evolution by Florian Neukart
English | PDF | 2017 | 404 Pages | ISBN : 3658161752 | 9.4 MB

Florian Neukart describes methods for interpreting signals in the human brain in combination with state of the art AI, allowing for the creation of artificial conscious entities (ACE). Key methods are to establish a symbiotic relationship between a biological brain, sensors, AI and quantum hard- and software, resulting in solutions for the continuous consciousness-problem as well as other state of the art problems.

Foundations of Quantum Physics

Foundations of Quantum Physics by Charles E. Burkhardt
English | PDF(True) | 2008 | 530 Pages | ISBN : 0387776516 | 6.3 MB

Intended to be used as a textbook for an introductory course in quantum mechanics at the undergraduate level, Foundations of Quantum Physics is also meant to be retained by the student for later use as a reference. The presentation begins with the solution of some basic quantum mechanical problems. The emphasis is on those features of the solutions that are unique to quantum physics. It is only after these aspects of quantum physics are thoroughly discussed that the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics is presented and related to the previous chapters. Throughout the book, the emphasis is on understanding the concepts and relating them to known phenomena.

Fundamentals of Quantum Physics: Textbook for Students of Science and Engineering by Pedro Pereyra
English | PDF | 2012 | 328 Pages | ISBN : 3642293778 | 5.56 MB

This book presents a comprehensive course of quantum mechanics for undergraduate and graduate students. After a brief outline of the innovative ideas that lead up to the quantum theory, the book reviews properties of the Schrödinger equation, the quantization phenomena and the physical meaning of wave functions.

Beyond the Atom: The Philosophical Thought of Wolfgang Pauli by Kalervo V. Laurikainen
English | PDF | 1985 | 251 Pages | ISBN : 3540194568 | 37.08 MB

The Austrian physicist Wolfgang Pauli (1900-1958) was often called the conscience of physics. He was famous for his sharp and critical mind which made him a central figure among the founders of quantum physics. He also was an outstanding philosopher, especially interested in finding a new conception of reality and of causality.
