The Colourful Telemann presents works from different periods of Georg Philipp Telemann’s life, reflecting his lively personality and exploring his seemingly unlimited invention over a wide variety of styles and genres. A contemporary of Bach and Handel, Telemann wrote music that stands out for its delightful and remarkably generous character, each piece like a leisurely walk with a good friend. From the German and French influences of the earlier Sonata to the dignified Sinfonia Melodica, possibly composed in the year of his death, this is Telemann at his best.

Surfacing a decade after its capture at the iconic Los Angeles club Vitellos in 2011, Live at Vitellos is a stirring snapshot of a stunning live performance - something that is so sorely missed during these modern times.

His music draws inspiration from a broad palette of genres: bebop / hard bop, fusion, indie rock, classical music, and more. Andrew’s upcoming release on Brooklyn Jazz Underground Records, Shape-Shifter, reflects this multifaceted approach that ultimately produces music distinctly his own, while unveiling compelling explorations with electronics in a contemporary jazz ensemble context.

Leon Bibb (February 7, 1922 – October 23, 2015) was an American folk singer and actor who grew up in Kentucky, studied voice in New York City, and worked on Broadway. His career began when he became a featured soloist of the Louisville Municipal College glee club as a student. He lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, after 1969.

Snorre Kirk the composer, bandleader and drummer - has long influenced listeners in Scandinavia and further south. Snorre and his Band are in demand in Denmark, and are loved by several generations of jazz listeners. In recent years we have also seen him flourish as a full-fledged composer.

Following a highly personal and splendidly reviewed Brahms recording, Fabian Müller follows up with Passionato, an album centring not on a single composer, but on a “central masterwork of Western piano music”:

Time Warp. Contemporary jazz group, formed in 1980 in Toronto by the self-styled 'Galt Rhythm Machine' - bassist Al Henderson (b Galt, Ont, 16 Apr 1951) and drummer Barry Elmes (b Galt 3 May 1952) - with saxophonist Bob Brough. It took the name Time Warp on the release of its debut LP in 1982.

Saxophonist and composer Amit Friedman is a guiding light in the Israeli jazz scene. His inspiringly lyrical compositions are arranged with his group of master musicians in mind and are rooted solidly in the jazz tradition, along with rich influences of the Middle East interwoven throughout.
