The Salon of Scylla and Glaucus is a moment of chamber music, music behind closed doors, closed but paradoxically opened, where one can enter in resonance and lose his way between what is similar and yet different.

The 21 Mazurkas belong to those youthful works which it has been agreed upon to designate as Scriabin’s 'first period', thus referring to a composer still heavily influenced by romantic models, and Chopin in particular. Too rarely in concert, these pieces indeed possess a melodic inventiveness and charm which make them as appealing as they are accessible. By their conciseness and finely wrought style, they even figure – with the Prelude- among the finest examples of the Russian composer-pianist’s miniaturist art.

Following the release of their debut album ‘Hommage à la Dauphine’ in 2012, the Trio Dauphine is thrilled to announce their next album, featuring the young soprano Maïlys de Villoutreys, to explore French composers of the second half of the 18th century.

Composed between 1909 and 1912, these 24 Preludes can be considered as a «pianistic sum» in the work of Claude Debussy, but also more generally in the literature for the instrument. They are part of a tradition which, since the 24 Preludes and fugues of the «well-tempered clavier» of Johann Sebastian Bach continued with Frédéric Chopin, then Serguei Rachmaninov, Alexander Scriabin, Olivier Messiaen.

The EP was produced by Dann Huff and marks the first commercial release from Wammack, a 23-year old native of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. She began writing songs at age 12. At the age of 17 she was discovered by Sony Music Nashville while performing in Muscle Shoals. Five years and many written songs later, Rachel received a record deal from Sony Music Nashville.

Walkin' in Love Land has an aura of nostalgia because of the number of older pop songs, like the Everly Brothers' "All I Have to Do Is Dream" and Glen Campbell's "Turn Around, Look at Me" (which was on the charts again in 1968 thanks to the Vogues). The wistful "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye" was deservedly a number one hit for Eddy Arnold, even if Johnny Tillotson's 1963 recording was better. The Platters' "I'll Never Smile Again" is a surprising selection that is well-suited to Arnold's style, and the title track sounds like a missed opportunity for a single. On the downside, the cloying "Apples, Raisins and Roses" and most of side two are bland pop ballads of the sort that dominate Arnold's late-'60s LPs. About half of Walkin' in Love Land ranges in quality from above-average to very good, which is enough to place the album among the best of Eddy Arnold's late RCA albums.

Country Hall of Fame is a terrifically entertaining tribute to not only the institution of the Country Music Hall of Fame (the hit title song is a corny but strong tribute to the foundation) but the performers who grace its halls. Over the course of the LP, Hank Locklin sings standards like "High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me)," "Four Walls," "Walking the Floor Over You," "Lovesick Blues," "Blue Yodel ('T' for Texas)," and "Peace in the Valley," giving them each his patented high, lonesome tenor. It's a very entertaining and even moving record, and it ranks as one of his best albums of the late '60s.

Lawrence Hankins 'Hank' Locklin was an American country music singer-songwriter. A member of the Grand Ole Opry for nearly 50 years, Locklin had a long recording career with RCA Victor, and scored big hits with "Please Help Me, I'm Falling", "Send Me the Pillow You Dream On" and "Geisha Girl" from 1957-1960. His singles charted from 1949-1971. Now listen his album "Softly", original recordings 1968 year.

The youngest of four brothers, he began to sing with Joe, Gene, and Vic in the late '40s. The Ames Brothers hit the Top Ten three times between 1954 and 1957, and starred in their own series in 1955. After the group broke up in 1959, Ames traveled to New York to study acting; he appeared in a few stage productions and then accepted a role in the series Daniel Boone playing Mingo the Indian. He began recording again in 1964, eventually notching seven hits in the charts, including 1967's Top Ten single "My Cup Runneth Over." Twelve albums were eventually released from the mid-'60s to early '70s. If you are an Ed Ames fan, you will enjoy this one. Was in great condition and plays very beautifully.
