Mary Chapin Carpenter's anticipated new album, 'Sometimes Just The Sky', is a celebration of her acclaimed 30-year recording career. The landmark record features new versions of some of Carpenter's most beloved songs as well as one newly written song, which became the title track. Produced by Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Paul McCartney, Ray LaMontagne), the 13-track album was recorded entirely live at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios outside Bath, England. Over the course of her celebrated career, Carpenter has sold over 14 million records.

There's a line in "Slow Burn," the opening track of Kacey Musgraves' new album Golden Hour, that has been recycled, word for word, from her unreleased crowd-pleaser "John Prine" (better known to her fans as "Burn One With John Prine"). Beginning with their first performances in the early 1970s, THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER have become the cornerstones of contemporary music. Originally launched by Tim Hauser in 1969, Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel and Laurel Masse were the group by 1972. Cheryl Bentyne joined the group in 1979 after Laurel Masse left.

“DECCA has used the most recent digital and Cedar technology to improve the original sound, under the overall supervision of veteran technician James Lock. This is one of the great performances of recording history.” Over half a century has passed since this classic DECCA recording was made in Kingsway Hall, London in January 1963. While the performance remains a benchmark, time has left the original analogue master tapes more fragile than ever.

Hank Jones, a true aristocrat of jazz piano, was 85 when this recording was made in 2004. His Great Jazz Trio has been around for almost 30 years, with various first-call bassists and drummers. His new team is state-of-the-art: bassist John Patitucci and drummer Jack DeJohnette.
