Progress in Mathematics: Probability Theory, Mathematical Statistics, and Theoretical Cybernetics by R. V. Gamkrelidze
English | PDF | 1971 | 131 Pages | ISBN : 1468433113 | 11.5 MB

This volume contains two review articles: "Stochastic Pro gramming" by Vo V. Kolbin, and "Application of Queueing-Theoretic Methods in Operations Research, " by N. Po Buslenko and A. P. Cherenkovo The first article covers almost all aspects of stochastic programming. Many of the results presented in it have not pre viously been surveyed in the Soviet literature and are of interest to both mathematicians and economists. The second article com prises an exhaustive treatise on the present state of the art of the statistical methods of queueing theory and the statistical modeling of queueing systems as applied to the analysis of complex systems.

Research Papers in Statistical Inference for Time Series and Related Models: Essays in Honor of Masanobu Taniguchi by Yan Liu, Junichi Hirukawa, Yoshihide Kakizawa
English | PDF (True) | 2023 | 591 Pages | ISBN : 9819908027 | 24.4 MB

This book compiles theoretical developments on statistical inference for time series and related models in honor of Masanobu Taniguchi's 70th birthday. It covers models such as long-range dependence models, nonlinear conditionally heteroscedastic time series, locally stationary processes, integer-valued time series, Lévy Processes, complex-valued time series, categorical time series, exclusive topic models, and copula models. Many cutting-edge methods such as empirical likelihood methods, quantile regression, portmanteau tests, rank-based inference, change-point detection, testing for the goodness-of-fit, higher-order asymptotic expansion, minimum contrast estimation, optimal transportation, and topological methods are proposed, considered, or applied to complex data based on the statistical inference for stochastic processes.

Applications of Computational Intelligence in Management & Mathematics: 8th ICCM, Nirjuli, AP, India, July 29–30, 2022 by Madhusudhan Mishra, Nishtha Kesswani, Imene Brigui
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 | 354 Pages | ISBN : 3031251938 | 52.9 MB

Computational intelligence consists of those techniques that imitate the human brain and nature to adopt the decision-making approach. This book contains selected papers from the 8th International Conference on Computers, Management and Mathematical Sciences (ICCM) 2022 about fuzzy systems, neural networks and evolutionary computation that can address stochastic environments where reasoning is a significant attribute to derive potential solutions and focus on the business domain's computational aspects.

Mathematical Statistics

Mathematical Statistics by B. L. Waerden
English | PDF | 1969 | 384 Pages | ISBN : 366222139X | 26.8 MB

Ever since my days as a student, economists, doctors, physiologists, biologists, and engineers have come to me with queries of a statistical nature. This book is the product of my long interest in practical solutions to such problems. Study of the literature and my own ideas have repeat edly led me to improved methods, which will be established here and applied to instructive examples taken from the natural and social sciences. Thus, I hope to help the reader avoid the many fruitless direc tions in which I worked at first. The examples are not artificially con structed from theoretical considerations but are instead taken from real situations; consequently, many of the examples require detailed explana tion. The presentation of the basic mathematical concepts is, I hope, as brief as possible without becoming incomprehensible. Some rather long theoretical arguments have been necessary, but, whenever possible, references for the more difficult proofs have been made to good text books already in existence. There would be no point in developing again the mathematical theories which have been presented clearly and in detail by Kolmogorov, Caratheodory, and Cramer.

Modern Concepts and Theorems of Mathematical Statistics

Modern Concepts and Theorems of Mathematical Statistics by Edward B. Manoukian
English | PDF | 1986 | 168 Pages | ISBN : 1461293324 | 11.3 MB

With the rapid progress and development of mathematical statistical methods, it is becoming more and more important for the student, the in structor, and the researcher in this field to have at their disposal a quick, comprehensive, and compact reference source on a very wide range of the field of modern mathematical statistics.

Mathematical Statistics for Economics and Business

Mathematical Statistics for Economics and Business by Ron C. Mittelhammer
English | PDF | 1996 | 733 Pages | ISBN : 1461284619 | 74.1 MB

This book is designed to provide beginning graduate stu dents and advanced undergraduates with a rigorous and accessible foundation in the principles of probability and mathematical statistics underlying statis tical inference in the fields of business and economics. The book assumes no prior knowledge of probability or statistics and effectively builds the subject "from the ground up." Students who complete their studies of the topics in this text will have acquired the necessary background to achieve a mature and enduring understanding of statistical and econometric methods of inference and will be well equipped to read and comprehend graduate-level economet rics texts. Additionally, this text serves as an effective bridge to more advanced study of both mathematical statistics and econometric theory and methods. The book will also be of interest to researchers who desire a decidedly business and economics-oriented treatment of the subject in terms of its topics, depth, breadth, examples, and problems.

Mathematical Statistics for Economics and Business, Second Edition, provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of mathematical statistics which underpin statistical analyses in the fields of economics, business, and econometrics. The selection of topics in this textbook is designed to provide students with a conceptual foundation that will facilitate a substantial understanding of statistical applications in these subjects. This new edition has been updated throughout and now also includes a downloadable Student Answer Manual containing detailed solutions to half of the over 300 end-of-chapter problems.

Approximation Theorems of Mathematical Statistics by Robert J. Serfling
English | PDF | 1980 | 381 Pages | ISBN : 0471024031 | 21.1 MB

Approximation Theorems of Mathematical Statistics
This convenient paperback edition makes a seminal text in statistics accessible to a new generation of students and practitioners. Approximation Theorems of Mathematical Statistics covers a broad range of limit theorems useful in mathematical statistics, along with methods of proof and techniques of application. The manipulation of "probability" theorems to obtain "statistical" theorems is emphasized. Besides a knowledge of these basic statistical theorems, this lucid introduction to the subject imparts an appreciation of the instrumental role of probability theory.

Mathematical Statistics: A Unified Introduction by George R. Terrell
English | PDF(True) | 467 Pages | ISBN : 0387986219 | 3.9 MB

Why another textbook? The statistical community generally agrees that at the upper undergraduate level, or the beginning master’s level, students of statistics should begin to study the mathematical methods of the ?eld. We assume that by then they will have studied the usual two year college sequence ,including calculus through multiple integrals and the basics of matrix algebra. Therefore, they are ready to learn the foundations of their subject, in much more depth than is usual in an applied, “cookbook,” introduction to statistical methodology.

Contributions on Theory of Mathematical Statistics by Kei Takeuchi
English | PDF | 2020 | 428 Pages | ISBN : 4431552383 | 5.24 MB

This volume is a reorganized edition of Kei Takeuchi’s works on various problems in mathematical statistics based on papers and monographs written since the 1960s on several topics in mathematical statistics and published in various journals in English and in Japanese. They are organized into seven parts, each of which is concerned with specific topics and edited to make a consistent thesis. Sometimes expository chapters have been added.
