Their three 1970–71 Capitol albums available on CD and Digital for the first time.Jim and John Hager recorded three albums for Capitol Records: The Hagers and Two Hagers Are Better Than One in 1970, and Motherhood, Apple Pie & The Flag the following year. The identical twins also logged a staggering 135 appearances on the television staple Hee Haw between 1969 and 1985, and were a concert draw until Jim’s death in 2008—with his brother passing a mere eight months later in 2009. While all critically acclaimed, and being dubbed “the next big thing” in country music, the albums did not chart as well as expected, but those who know country music and Buck Owens, know they were something special.

Emitt Rhodes to release first new album in 43 years. Rainbow Ends coming February 26, 2016 from Omnivore Recordings. The singer-songwriter, whose 1971 debut is a power-pop classic, was joined by special guests Roger Joseph Manning Jr. & Jason Falkner of Jellyfish, Nels Cline, Aimee Mann, Susanna Hoffs, Jon Brion, Bleu, and members of Brian Wilson’s band.

It’s mid- to late-1975, what remained of Big Star is no longer, Third/Sister Lovers was sitting on a shelf and Alex Chilton was in Memphis at a very low point. Chris Bell spent a large part of the year in London trying to get a solo record deal, but turned up empty and flew home to visit family in late summer. While at home, Bell was cutting more solo tracks at Ardent, one of which, “You And Your Sister” needed a harmony vocal, so he called in Alex.
