Following her acclaimed debut Diaries, pianist Tiffany Poon returns with Nature, an album that explores the evocative power of French music in capturing the beauty of the natural world from the delicate shimmer of water to the quiet mysteries of the forest and the animals found within. Nature, which Tiffany recorded at legendary Provence recording studio Miraval Studios (Pink Floyd, Sade, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) with producer Damien Quintard, brings together works by French composers across centuries, united by an instinctual admiration for the world around them.

I’m so excited to share with you my latest EP, Luminous Threads, featuring my wonderful friend and collaborator, Oliver Wass - Harpist, which will be released on Blue Cloud Music and Orchid Classics on 7th November. Oliver and I have been creating music and performing together for many years, and with this EP, we’re excited to share the result of our unique blend of saxophone and harp — a sound shaped by countless hours of collaboration and shared passion. We hope that you enjoy our renditions of well-loved pieces, beginning with our first released single, Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane featuring cellist Leander Kippenberg in a unique arrangement for saxophone, harp and cello. Having spent several days recording this EP, both Oliver and I, and our amazing recording team, are looking forward to sharing this project with you.

Brandon Sanders returns to Savant Records, and his new recording is something to get excited about. After turning critics' heads with two previous recordings, Brandon is stepping it up with his new project that's all energy and heart. Part of the buzz comes from the stellar lineup. Joining the session is pianist Eric Scott Reed, certainly a name that carries serious weight in jazz today. Reed is one of those rare players who can make any ensemble shine, and his chemistry with Brandon is remarkable, to say the least.

This trio led by French cellist Vincent Courtois with its unusual instrumentation of cello, clarinet and tenor saxophone, has in its DNA all the elements of what touches us in West Coast Jazz. Chamber jazz where classical instruments such as the clarinet and the cello have a privileged place, which is not so common, but akin to Chico Hamilton's 1956 quintet with Fred Katz on cello and Buddy Colette on clarinet.

The musical culture that Joséphine de Beauharnais (1763-1814), Empress of the French and Napoleon Bonaparte’s wife, developed with her family and at court kept pace with fashion and even shaped the French musical taste of the period. It’s only recently that Bronsart von Schellendorf’s career as a composer has been more widely acknowledged. Liszt, however, was aware of Bronsart’s prowess, referring to his orchestral work Frühlings-Fantasie as “beautiful and invaluable” and later declaring “I value him as a character and a musician.” Even a cursory listen to the Piano Concerto reveals a composer working in ambitious dimensions and with an extrovert musical language. Rich in melodic and emotional content, Bronsart’s piano writing gives ample opportunity for virtuoso display while delivering his musical arguments with power and precision. Bronsart's good friend Hans von Bülow, another pupil of Liszt, had toured the work from 1870 onwards.

The Athens State Orchestra is the oldest symphony orchestra in Greece. On the occasion of Mikis Theodorakis' 100th birthday, GENUIN evokes the spirits of his homeland and of classical antiquity in three symphonic works by Greece’s most famous composer—works that played an important role toward the end of his life: from the early „Sinfonietta“ in a new version, through the folk-inspired „Rhapsody for Guitar and Orchestra“, to the equally moving nine-part „Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra“, Theodorakis’s last orchestral work. The young, rising Kornilios Michailidis leads Greece’s premier orchestra with verve, while the album’s soloists contribute at the highest standard of playing to these remarkable recordings!

This release is the world première recording of Estonia’s first major work in art music in its original score and sung in Estonian. Rudolf Tobias (1873–1918) is widely celebrated in Estonia as the ‘father of Estonian music’ and considered as the first Estonian composer to have obtained a degree in composing after completing his studies at the St Petersburg Conservatoire. In this recording the composer’s magnum opus, Joonas (Jonah Oratorio) is performed by a first-class Estonian line up led by the award-winning ensembles Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and conductor Tõnu Kaljuste.

Music lovers all over the world appreciate the unique sound of Viennese strings. However, there is another special sound – that of the Viennese oboe. Sebastian Breit, principal oboist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, puts his instrument in the spotlight on an album released by Supreme Classics. Series of award-winning recordings by the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Nicholas Collon continue with a new album of orchestral works by Richard Strauss (1864–1949). This release includes Strauss’ longest and final major orchestral work, the Alpine Symphony together with Four Songs, Op. 27 sung by soprano Louise Alder, one of the most in demand singers today.

Trio X is one of Sweden’s foremost improvisational groups. The trio’s distinctive feature is exploratory and boundary-crossing music, and the experienced musicians find inspiration in many genres. Lennart Simonsson, Per V Johansson, and Joakim Ekberg started collaborating in 2002, and since then they have made several recordings, worked with numerouswell-known artists, and toured in Sweden and abroad.
