In the last years of his life, Johann Sebastian Bach brought together some of his most profound musical reflections in the collection known as the Leipzig Chorales - a series of 18 organ works that combine spiritual depth, contrapuntal mastery and expressive richness.

The Booze Brothers, featuring Mark Knopfler & Dave Edmunds, is the second album released by Brewers Droop, an English blues band. Although most of the tracks were recorded in 1973 the album was only released in 1989 when it was discovered that the album had involved Dave Edmunds and the line-up had included Pick Withers and Mark Knopfler, later of Dire Straits. Ron Watts, the founder of the band, later in the '70s became a punk rock promoter at venues such as 100 Club. Steve Darrington continued as a professional musician, appearing on over 50 albums, and is the organizer of the Swanage Blues Festival.

A dark and devastating concept record about real life events, it is a spiritual successor to its predecessor, and a huge leap forward on every conceivable level.

Composed, performed and produced fully by the artist herself, the new album by Cosey Fanni Tutti is equal parts abstract electronic experimentation and rhythmic propulsion, finds Jon Buckland. It has been six years since Cosey Fanni Tutti’s last solo outing (and 42 since her first). This thinly veiled sequel, 2t2, continues in much the same fertile vein as her post-Throbbing Gristle output. At the same time, it also appears a little more guarded, as if the candid moments in her early days have left her more cautious. Split into two distinct halves, 2t2 combines a back half of exploratory electronics with the more rhythmic, Chris & Cosey-esque opening tracks. Formed of mournful cornet cutting through slippery drones and pearlescent pads, the subtle centrepiece, ‘Stolen Time’, perfectly bridges these two worlds. Not that the mood throughout the record is wallowing in despondency.

Born to sing, Gloria Gaynor’s passion and persistence have kept her going through thick and thin. Famously recognized as one of the Queens of Disco alongside other legends like Donna Summer, Gaynor went from singing in local nightclubs around Newark, New Jersey, to signing a deal with Columbia Records in 1971.

Celebrated Grammy award winner Ray LaMontagne will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of his seminal debut album, Trouble, with a special remastered vinyl edition. Additionally, LaMontagne will embark on the Trouble 20th Anniversary Tour, performing the album in its entirety for the first time since its release. On the remastered vinyl, LaMontagne continues, "When Trouble was initially released Vinyl was considered a dead format, never to breathe again. Digital audio was the new King. As we know this has proved untrue. Each year more and more music lovers are listening to vinyl and appreciating it for its depth and breadth of sound, for its physical heft, for its tangible realness."

The AITC film and subsequent audio release is QOTSA distilled down to their most elemental form—Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore augmented by a three-piece string section, employing chains and chopsticks as makeshift percussion instruments. A trip to Jamaica in January 2024 set 'Pure Good Vibes' in motion. Ada headed to the island after hearing that her bassist and producer Livingstone Brown, was flying there to work with Maxi Priest. It was an idea that was underlined by her desire to explore the music, culture and Jamaican heritage that had also shaped the lives of her other band members Luke Smith (keyboard) and Josh McNasty (drums).

Phantom Island is the upcoming twenty-seventh studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, set for release on 13 June 2025, through p(doom) Records. Recorded concurrently with their prior album, Flight b741 (2024), Phantom Island continues on the same themes, with a more orchestral sound.
