The first time Margarita Höhenrieder heard the Finnish pianist Antti Siirala, she was a member of the jury for the International Beethoven Competition in Vienna in May 1997. Many years later, Antti Siirala was appointed Professor for Piano at the University of Music and Theatre Munich – a happy coincidence that gave both the opportunity to make music together. The very first time they played together, we sensed a special musical relationship: a similar ideal of sound and a very deliberate way of listening to one another.

Brooklyn-based jazz-rock innovators Alex Skolnick Trio (AST) return this fall with PROVE YOU’RE NOT A ROBOT on Flatiron Recordings, the group’s sixth LP, arriving in November 2025. The album’s first single, a wildly inventive take on Tom Petty’s “Breakdown,” will be released Friday, September 5th.

Written in the latter part of the composer's life, it encompasses the zenith of Bach's exploration of possibilities of contrapuntal writing for instrument. This release offers the first integral recording worldwide of this famous work from the first 1751 printed version which appeared after the death of the composer. This recording allows listeners to enjoy that first publication verbatim for the very first time. Performing on a fine copy of the harpsichord by Johann Christoph Osterlein and concluding with the chorale setting for organ on Wenn wir in hochsten Noten BWV 668a recorded in Grauhof, Germany, listeners can enjoy the 1751 print verbatim for the first time. James is joined by Carole Cerasi (Gramophone Award-winning harpischordist) on two tracks requiring a duet partner.

Great news! Recordings by the grand dame of piano, Lili Kraus, made between the 1930s and 1950s for the labels Les Discophiles Français, Ducretet and Parlophone, are to be released online in a remastered high-definition version. A fascinating personality, Lili Kraus is not only famous for her teaching skills and her old-fashioned outfits, but above all for her miraculous touch and her lively, spirited interpretations of the great Viennese repertoire, in which she particularly excelled. Our first volume is devoted to her interpretations of Haydn (five sonatas and the rare Andante with Variations), which will be followed by Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert.

Song Offerings: Choral Works by Christopher Tin is a new album from composer Christopher Tin released on Decca Gold, featuring two major choral works performed by the choir Kantorei. The album includes the titular "Song Offerings," a setting of poems from Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali, and "Transfigurations," with lyrics by Charles Anthony Silvestri. The works explore themes of communal love, peace, transcendence, and the universal nature of change.
