Theo Travis is well known on the British jazz scene for his 5 solo albums and his frequent touring with his quartet. He has played with Palle Mikkelborg, John Etheridge, Mervyn Africa, Lol Coxhill, Roger Beaujolais and Steve Lodder and has performed and recorded with such art rock and experimental artists as Anja Garbarek, Roger Eno, Hugh Hopper, Mick Karn,
Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri (ex-Japan), and Porcupine Tree. For the last three years he has also been a member and featured soloist of psychedelic space rock band Gong with Daevid Allen. While 'View from the Edge' predates these musical explorations, it shows Theo Travis' early inclination towards experimentation, a determination to do things his own way and not follow the mainstream.
