Michelle Nicolle is celebrated as Australia’s finest female jazz singer. Winner of multiple awards, she has appeared at festivals all over Australia and the world, from Tokyo to Siberia. In addition to her regular weekly performances at Melbourne’s Brunswick Green, recent gigs have included featuring with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at the Lincoln Centre Orchestra in performances of Marsalis’s masterpiece All Rise with the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras.

Michelle is admired for her ability to get right to the heart of a song, as well as being a brilliant in-the-moment improviser with a technique to match any instrumentalist. In the words of Kurt Elling, ‘Michelle is a singer born to charm, enlighten and seduce through music.’
