Acclaimed saxophonist Joshua Redman makes his Blue Note debut with "Where Are We," his first project with the participation of a vocalist throughout, Italian-American singer Gabrielle Cavassa.

The songs with states and cities in the title immediately reveal that this is about the U.S., and what contemporary America means to Redman and the others involved in this album. Part of the album consists of jazz and pop standards, and although Redman keeps the songs close to the original, he always creates a sense of new discovery.
