Erik Söderlind is one of Sweden’s finest jazz exports. With his trademark fingerstyle technique he is musically rooted in the style of straight ahead-jazz and highly influenced by Wes Montgomery, George Benson and Grant Green. In 2015 Erik received The Guitar People Prize Sweden, an award given to the best guitar player in Sweden. The same year he released his third solo album “In The Moment” which features artists like Eric Alexander, Lisa Nilsson, Svante Thuresson and Dan Berglund. Over the last few years he’s become increasingly better known internationally as well and has played with several of the most influential jazz guitarists in the world, like Frank Vignola and Peter Bernstein.

Jonny Ek finished his bachelor degree in jazz piano from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm 2019 and then released his debut album together with his trio in 2021 (Live at the Valley). Influenced by the likes of Barry Harris and Bud Powell he finds his personal sound both as pianist and composer.

Together as a quartet with bass and drums they are releasing their album Erik Söderlind meets Jonny Ek on the 27th of October 2023 available on both vinyl and digital platforms. The evening’s concert will offer both own material from the new album mixed with music written by jazz legends. In the style of classic groups from the 60s and today’s New York scene, it will be an evening in the spirit of swing.
