Jonathan Suazo - Ricano, Vol.1 Live in 2023 (2024) [Official Digital Download]

Ricano is an original Afro Caribbean experience that’s carving a unique path within the world of Jazz.

By following in the footsteps of musical geniuses like David Sánchez, Kenny Garrett, Terri-Lyne Carrington, Danilo Perez, and Miguel Zenón, this project presents themes of exploration, integration, community, and self-acceptance, available to audiences through live performances, socio-cultural residencies and recorded assets.

The word RICANO is a play/fusion of the words "Puertorriqueño” and “Dominicano,'' symbolizing self-discovery and connections to Puertorican and Dominican roots and ancestry communicated through the language of music.

In 2023 Ricano had great success with its 1st album release, a summer/fall tour and several educational residencies that impacted more than 600 student lives by the end of its first year.
