Modern trumpet sounds between jazz, rock and minimalism! The British jazz trumpeter Henry Spencer presents his latest album "The Defector", which convinces with soulful as well as emotionally charged songs.

Henry Spencer is a British jazz musician and composer who studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He has played alongside famous jazz greats such as George Porter Jr (The Meters), the Jon Desbruslais Quintet and the London Jazz Orchestra. With his own band "Henry Spencer & The Juncture" Henry Spencer presents his own compositions. These convince with soulful trumpet solos, carried by detailed melodies. The Guardian praises the playing of the jazz musician as "spectacular technique".

For his new album "The Defector" Henry Spencer collaborated with mixing engineer Jon Kelly (Michael Jackson, Kate Bush, Paul McCartney and John Lennon among others), platinum-selling co-producer Paul Whalley and renowned composer George Stevenson of the London Symphony Orchestra. The musician's 9 compositions are a multi-faceted blend of cinematic, intense energy and emotive, lyrical melodies - almost as if words were being sung.
