Smith, an accomplished clarinetist, first encountered Jazz Manouche during his college years when he discovered the virtuosic clarinet playing of Hubert Rostaing alongside Reinhardt. This revelation sparked a lifelong passion for the style. Now, with Manouche, he partners with Rosenberg–one of today's most remarkable acoustic guitarists–to explore the essence of the genre.

Rosenberg's playing is both soulful and technically dazzling, blending traditional Dutch Sinti guitar techniques with modern phrasing. His rhythmic drive and lyrical interpretations elevate the album, which also features Remi Oswald on rhythm guitar and William Brunard on bass.
