In 2004 Claude Nougaro disappeared, leaving us all a little orphaned by a poetic writing where jazz was so often embedded. Twenty years later, after the release of the album "The Rooster and The Pendulum" and the sequel "ANousGaro", we decided to follow up on this project. - - - - We don't change such a great team, and it's only natural that we found ourselves around this new album. We thought it legitimate to pay this tribute / anniversary to the deceased poet with this third opus. In this third part, we wanted above all to look to the future and to what Claude Nougaro would, we hope, have liked and perhaps done himself. - - 'Jazz and Java' will sound for some like a cry of joy or for others like a war cry to perpetuate the work of the deceased poet. This album contains songs by Claude on music by different composers (Datin, Lema, Saisse, Legrand, Vander, Galliano, …) covering all the periods of Claude Nougaro. - - This album is intended to be a joyful tribute to the poet by avoiding any form of nostalgia. A more urban sound, arrangements signed collectively, a jazz of today, which highlights the exceptional poet that was and will always be Claude Nougaro. Through these arranged and reinterpreted works, we have tried to respect the poet's pen.
