C’est une voie royale qui s’ouvre à Ayo… et qui explique le titre de ce sixième album se partageant entre nouveau départ et retour aux sources. On y entend aussi bien des compositions originales, pleines d’âme et de groove (« Rest Assured », « Fix Me Up », « Rosie Blue »), que des reprises bien choisies (d’Abbey Lincoln à Maxime Le Forestier en passant par Lhasa). Le folk se teinte de soul, ou l’inverse : on ne sait pas trop et c’est tant mieux, car Royal brille par l’efficacité de ses mélodies et l’épure de ses arrangements.

Yundi, one of the most celebrated and influential pianists of today, has returned to Warner Classics with the signature of a long-term agreement between him and the label. His first release under the new agreement, due for release in January 2020, will be an album of Chopin’s Piano Concertos Nos 1 and 2, on which he directs the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra from the keyboard. This constitutes both his first recording as pianist-conductor and his first recording of the Piano Concerto No 2. His previous Warner Classics release, the complete Chopin Nocturnes, dates from 2010.

Her partner in a tempting and diverse selection of songs with piano is Helmut Deutsch. “Not only is Strauss’s music gorgeous,” says Damrau, “there’s the way he combines words and notes – and the psychology.”

Across four decades Ben Watt has maintained a committed forward-looking course, from the ardent echo-drenched folk of his early solo work with Robert Wyatt, through seventeen years as musical mainspring and co-lyricist in the best-selling Everything But the Girl with Tracey Thorn - and ten at the helm of his smart electronic label Buzzin' Fly - to his more recent moving non-fiction and mid-life solo albums, the award-winning 'Hendra' (2014) and 'Fever Dream' (2016). 'Storm Damage' is Watt's fourth solo LP. Sonically adventurous, lyrically detailed and engaged, the album - written and produced by Watt himself - is a personal journey through anxiety and change cut through with an insistent defiance.

One of the most elegant and smooth jazz albums I ever heard Oregon jazz band from USA, created a very unique album in my opinion with a lots of unusual instruments for this kind of music, like Sitar, Tabla, Flugelhorn and Oboe and give a new dimension to the jazz music.

Openly I would describe this work as the first Oregon's LP, under the direction of soprano saxophonist Paul Winter.

'Foolish Loving Spaces' is the follow-up to Blossoms' 2018 album 'Cool Like You' and features the single 'Your Girlfriend'. The album was produced by the band's consistent and talented team of James Skelly and Rich Turvey at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool. Tom Ogden's increasingly direct lyrical range turns album three into a romantic page-turner of light and shade, while its divergent moods are supplied by Myles Kellock's piano and keyboard lines, careering from urgent stabs of TV game show-theme synth to more classic, rolling notes. The record's multi-instrumental colour and widescreen sound is provided by pedal steel/lead guitarist Josh Dewhurst, while Joe Donovan on drums and Charlie Salt on bass bring fluidly danceable grooves throughout, complemented on occasion by a wall of gospel harmony.

In 2009, just over a year before his untimely death, the late, great Irish bluesman played an intimate set at London's Islington Academy which has since gone down in legend among his fans. Recorded for posterity, it appeared in January 2020. Featuring Moore at the top of his game, it includes some of his best-loved tunes including "Since I Met You Baby," "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know," "Walking by Myself," and the classic "Parisienne Walkways."
