Piano works from the soundtrack of the film "Goodbye Lenin" by Yann Tiersen. This film was a great success in Germany, as well as in several European countries. He won the Deutschen Filmpreis (German Film Prize) nine times: best film, Daniel Brühl best actor, Florian Lukas best supporting actor, best director, three technical prizes for editing, directing and music, as well as audience award for "German film of the year" and actor of the year for Daniel Brühl. In December 2003, it was the first German film to receive the European Film of the Year award. Daniel Brühl as actor and Bernd Lichtenberg as screenwriter also received this award. In France, the film received the César for best European film.
