Academic Vocabulary Builder is a collection of grammar videos, interactive tests, games, response sheets and quizzes created for students preparing to take the IELTS/TOEFL and GRE/GMAT even SAT/ACT tests.

The course consists of 2 parts:

Sections 1-6: Essential English Grammar part
Section 7-10: More Grammar and Academic Word List (of 560 words).


You will look at important grammar topics such as: Word Formation, Collocations, Conjunctions, Articles, Synonyms, Prepositions, Adverbs, and other Vocabulary grammar.

We believe that you're familiar with the grammar at this stage, however, a good revision will help you with your Sentence Construction, Reading, Writing and Vocabulary. If grammar is your weakest point this course will help you to improve it.

The course is designed for students taking IELTS and TOEFL exams, however, the Academic word list and Grammar in this course will strengthen your Vocabulary and Sentence Construction/Correction skills for the GRE and the GMAT exams too.

The second AWL part of this course is helpful for students working alone to learn the words most needed to study at colleges and universities.The 500+ words are divided into 10 Groups. The Groups are ordered such that the words in the first Group are the most frequent words and those in the last Group are the least frequent.

The Academic Word List (AWL) was developed by Averil Coxhead at the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. The list contains 500+ words which were selected because they appear with great frequency in a broad range of academic texts.
