Guitar playing in church has changed dramatically over the last 50 years. The electric guitar was looked down upon for many years. But today, the electric guitar, amps, effects and modern sounds are all a welcome staple in the modern worship scene. This course will help you become a better guitarist. You will learn how to use guitars, amps, modeling or profiling amps, effects and techniques to achieve the goal of becoming a better modern worship guitarist. For some, the use of guitar effects and amps can be confusing. We will help clarify a lot of that for you. We will explore the Nashville Number System and basics to reading charts. Learning to read and write your own charts is essential for today’s modern worship guitarist. We will learn about how to use capos and different tuned guitars and other stringed instruments in a worship setting. Using a capo or different tuned guitarist will open sonic possibilities that you normally only hear on big recordings. You will elevate the sound of your worship team just by following some of these important concepts. We will talk about getting prepared and all the things it takes for you to be ready for "downbeat". Through this course, you will be given the tools to take your guitar playing to the next level and gain the confidence you need to freely worship the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
