Welcome, in this course we will be exploring the exciting world of SOCMINT also known as Social media intelligence. If you are familiar with OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) then you probably are already familiar with the term SOCMINT, if you're not, then don't worry this course is designed to walk you through what SOCMINT is, why it's important, how to keep yourself safe, investigations and much more.

The use of social media has become more and more popular and important. Social media is often times used to communicate with others, get your news, keep up with friends, learn new things, get alerts, and a lot more. Social media can also be used and leveraged for misinformation, disinformation, crimes, stalking, background checks, skiptracing, and much more. The amount of information that can be found on social media is staggering and having the ability to find, curate, and determine what is real and what is fake is a critical skill that people need to have.

In this course we go by step by step in diving into SOCMINT and equally important some safety tips to keep yourself safe during your investigations. This is not a full OSINT course (There are several full OSINT courses on this platform including my own), this takes a part of OSINT concentrating on Social media.
