A fun hands-on STEAM course for kids—perfect for parents & teachers to spark interest in robotics & model-making.

    What you'll learn
    - Students will learn to measure and draw using scale ratios like 1:12 and 1:30 for accurate miniature and robotics structure design.
    - Students will learn to build a complete dollhouse model, developing spatial planning and foundational design thinking for robotics.
    - Students will learn to craft miniature furniture and layouts, building hands-on skills essential for robot body design.
    - Students will learn to add LED lighting and decorations to models, gaining basic knowledge of electronics and creative design.
    - Students will learn to apply creative problem-solving by turning ideas into real models, preparing for future robotics programming.

    Requirements
    - No prior technical or engineering experience is required
    - Basic understanding of using scissors, glue, and measuring tools
    - Adult supervision is strongly recommended for cutting and using the glue gun
    - Access to simple materials like cardboard, glue, ruler, pencil, etc.
    - Recommended (but not required): Completion of previous courses in the series (Canva, Scratch, OpenToonz, and Math for Coders)

    Description
This course,Robotics & Miniature Modeling – For Kids, is Course 5 in the “Next Generation Technologies – AI Programming and Robotics for Kids” series. (STEAM Education) It is designed for children aged 8 to 14 and serves as a hands-on transition from digital to physical creation. The course is intended for parents and guardians who want to provide their children with a safe and creative introduction to robotics and design thinking.

In the previous four courses, students were introduced to creative design usingCanva, basic programming throughScratch by MIT, animation withOpenToonz, and logical reasoning viaMaths for Coders. These foundational skills prepared them to think like designers, coders, and digital creators.

Now, this course takes them a step further—beyond the screen—into real-world model-making. Students will learn how to design and build miniature dollhouses and architectural models using scale measurements. They’ll understand how to read rulers, apply scale ratios (like 1:12 and 1:30), and create models with furniture, lighting, and decorations.

By the end of this course, children will not only improve their spatial understanding and craft skills but also lay the groundwork for future robotics training involving movement, sensors and AI. This is a fun and essential step in preparing young minds for the real-world applications of programming and robotics.

    Who this course is for:
    - This course is specially designed for young learners aged 8 to 14, who are curious about robotics, model-making, and hands-on creativity.
    - Parents or educators looking to introduce kids to the foundational concepts of robotics through fun and engaging activities
    - Students who have completed our previous courses like Canva for Kids, Scratch by MIT, OpenToonz Animation, or Maths for Future Coders, and are ready to explore real-world applications
    - Children interested in designing miniatures, building dollhouses, furniture, and experimenting with lighting
    - Young makers who enjoy crafting and want to understand the structure, design, and mechanics that lead to robotics
    - Homeschoolers and after-school program coordinators seeking a structured, project-based STEAM course
