    Description
Welcome to the Overcoming the Challenges Of Professional Flying course.
My name is Michael Carlini, founder of the Oregon Flight School, and I will be your instructor. I am a corporate jet pilot, flight instructor, and ATP with over 2000 hours and 13 years of flying experience. I am glad you are here.
One area in which traditional commercial pilot training completely lacks is in regard to many of the real-life challenges faced by professional pilots that are
    not
aviation-related knowledge areas or maneuvers. In reality, the major challenges encountered by commercial pilots are primarily related to aeronautical decision-making, lifestyle, and mental health. This course will cover these challenges so that when you enter the professional pilot work force as a flight instructor, jump pilot, banner tow pilot, jet pilot, or anywhere in between, you will be equipped to deal with these challenges as they inevitably appear.
By the end of this course you will know:
How to navigate and overcome external pressure from employers and colleagues
How to minimize feelings of imposter syndrome as a low time pilot
    How to handle making mistakes
Why it is so critically important to set precedents with employers and co-workers
Why you will inevitably find yourself being right and wrong at the same time
This course is designed for student pilots or private pilots working towards their commercial pilot certificate, as well as those who already hold a commercial pilot certificate and who are building time towards ATP minimums. I felt that commercial pilot training did not sufficiently discuss the topics that this course will cover, so I created this course to help fill in those gaps. I am excited to be able to share lessons that I have learned over the course of many years and thousands of hours of flying, condensed down into a course that is less than one hour in duration.
Thanks for tuning in, and I will see you inside!
    Who this course is for:
    Low Time Pilots
    Low Time Commercial Pilots
    Entry Level Commercial Pilots
    Inexperienced Professional Pilots
