Requirements

The course is designed for people with an understanding of the basic workflow and the concept of end-to-end flowcharting. Delegates should be thoroughly conversant with the skills and concepts covered in the Introduction course.

Description

MODULE 1: Customizing Shapes and Stencils

Learning outcomes: Create custom shapes using drawing tools and shape operation commands. Store groups of shapes in customized stencils, to allow easy access to masters and options to edit the shapes within the stencil.

MODULE 2: Designing Styles and Templates

Learning outcomes: Design and customize bespoke styles and settings to standardize Visio drawings. Ensure diagrams conform to a corporate identify by creating sets of theme colors and customized templates.

MODULE 3: Designing Floor Plans

Learning outcomes: Use floor plan shapes to create a representation of a building plan. Ensure accuracy by using floor plan settings, with scale and dimension controls. Work with layers to show and hide detail.

MODULE 4: Working with External Data

Learning outcomes: Import data from other Microsoft applications: Excel to create an organization chart and workflow diagram, Project to create a Gantt chart, and Access to associate database data with diagram shapes.

MODULE 5: Visio and other Programmes

MODULE 6: Automating Visio Tasks

Learning outcomes: Set up, record and edit basic macros in Visio, in order to automate tasks and save time when creating diagrams. Customize the properties of shapes in a diagram using ShapeSheets.
