Students wil learn the fundementals of precalculus which is very triginometry intense. Once the student completes this course they will have the fundemental knowledge to pursue calculus in greater depth.

All students should have a working knowledge of algebra.

Description

This course is designed to cover topics in Algebra ranging from polynomial, rational, and exponential functions to conic sections. Trigonometry concepts such as Law of Sines and Cosines will be introduced. This class is important for any student planning to take a college algebra or college pre-calculus class. This course is an intensive study of the basic functions needed for the study of calculus. Topics include algebraic, functional, and graphical techniques for solving problems with algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and their inverses.


Students will be able to solve the problems below after completing this course.


Graph many types of functions including trigonometric functions

Draw conics and write their equations, including parabolas, hyperbolas, and ellipses

Understand angles and their measure, both in radians and degrees

Solve trigonometric equations that include factoring and multiple angles

Solve triangles using the laws of sines and cosines

Discover the shapes of high degree polynomials

Find the domain and range of any function
