Analyze Seismic Response with Finite Element Model

    What you'll learn
    - Introduction to Local Seismic Response
    - Introduction to Algoshake Software
    - Performing 1D Analysis and Result Interpretation
    - Introduction to 2D Local Seismic Response

    Requirements
    - Basic Knlodge of Geophysics

    Description
This two-day practical course introduces the essential principles and application of local seismic response (site response) analysis using Algoritmiqa's powerful software, Algoshake. Understanding how local soil conditions amplify or de-amplify earthquake ground motions is critical for safe and economical seismic design.Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the Equivalent-Linear method, key dynamic soil properties, and appropriate input ground motion selection. Through hands-on exercises, you will learn to set up and execute 1D site response analyses in Algoshake, define soil profiles, import accelerograms, and interpret crucial outputs such as surface response spectra, amplification factors, and strain profiles. The course also provides an overview of 2D analysis capabilities and the integration of site response results into seismic microzonation and slope stability assessments. Designed for engineers and geologists, this course will equip you with the practical skills to analyze site-specific seismic hazards and apply results in accordance with modern seismic codes. No prior Algoshake experience is required.
