Winner of the very first women’s Olympic marathon, Joan Benoit Samuelson has spent her life breaking records and paving the way for female runners around the world. Now she’s teaching her personal philosophy and approach to running. Whether you’re an experienced runner or have been thinking about getting started, you’ll learn how to get motivated, set goals, and achieve victory in running and in life.

A former Olympic skiing hopeful, Joan Benoit Samuelson suffered a serious injury at 15 that caused her to take a break from the slopes. When she began running as rehabilitation for her injury, she unexpectedly fell in love with the sport and traded in her ski boots for running shoes.

Since becoming the first women’s Olympic marathon champion in 1984, Joan has continued to go the distance race after race, breaking records and putting more than 150,000 miles under her soles.

Over the past 50 years, Joan has developed her own personal philosophy and approach to running that allows her to discover new insights about herself and rediscover the joy of running every time she laces her shoes—and she hopes to help you do the same.
