    Président du Crédit lyonnais de 1993 à 2003, l'auteur raconte l'affaire qui a opposé l'une des filiales de la banque à B. Tapie.

    « Bernard Tapie est aujourd'hui encore considéré comme un héros par une large partie de l'opinion et des médias.

    Populiste de grand talent, il aurait pu connaître une brillante carrière politique avec les soutiens successifs de François Mitterrand et surtout de Nicolas Sarkozy.

    Il se présentait comme un homme d'affaires exceptionnel. Il n'en était rien. Ses entreprises firent faillite et furent mises en liquidation par le tribunal de commerce, ce qui entraîna sa ruine et surtout son inéligibilité.

    Il imagina alors une histoire invraisemblable : il aurait été spolié de plusieurs centaines de millions d'euros par le Crédit lyonnais dans l'affaire Adidas.

    C'est cette invention frauduleuse que je raconte, ce qui n'a jamais été fait jusqu'ici.

    Pourquoi aujourd'hui ? Parce que notre démocratie est malade, nos dirigeants politiques considérés comme corrompus et les juges injustement critiqués. Or, dans l'affaire Tapie, la République, attaquée avec la complicité ou la défaillance du pouvoir exécutif à son sommet, a été sauvée par la Justice. »
