Introduction to Camera Raw

Learn from scratch how to develop RAW files professionally and discover all the secrets of this indispensable tool
A RAW file is a world of possibilities to edit and, in this Domestika Basics, you will learn to explore it with an extensive tour of the Camera Raw software , a tool from the Adobe suite that will allow you to import and enhance your images with a great level of detail .

During these 5 courses the photographer Núria Aguadé will accompany you, who, with more than fifteen years of experience in the world of photography, knows all the tricks and secrets of digital photography.

You will start by knowing the types of RAW that exist and where they store the settings. Next you will see the interface, the menus and the main tools of Camera Raw. You will learn to adjust the exposure, contrast, and color by following the information in the histogram and to apply these changes to a set of images, as a batch.

Then you will enter the world of image enhancement tools and menus, such as perspective correction or blemish removal, cropping tools, curves or lens correction, among others. You’ll practice with the noise reduction menus and unsharp mask, both essential options for a clean, crisp finish.

Later, Núria will explain how to use the selective adjustment tools (brushes and gradients) to be able to work separately on light and dark areas and adjust the retouching to the needs of your images to get the most out of them.

Finally, we’ll see how to apply final color and black-and-white transforms, add vignetting or texture effects, and create presets. You will see how to export your photos in different formats and you will learn the differences between retouching an image to export it as a “final” JPG to be published on the web or process it to continue working with it in Adobe Photoshop.

Technical requirements
⦁ A computer with Windows 10 or macOS 10.12 Sierra (or higher).
⦁ Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and Camera Raw (you can buy them or download the 7-day trial versions on the Adobe website).
⦁ A camera that captures images in RAW format.
⦁ It is recommended to have a graphics tablet, although it is not essential.
