In this course we are going develop a Full stack social video blog application using Reactjs, Chakra UI and Firebase storage and Firestore Database. This project allows the user to upload their video and to share with their friends.

Firebase is a platform developed by Google for creating mobile and web applications. It was originally an independent company founded in 2011. In 2014, Google acquired the platform and it is now their flagship offering for app development.

What is Firebase used for?

Google Firebase is a Google-backed application development software that enables developers to develop iOS, Android and Web apps. Firebase provides tools for tracking analytics, reporting and fixing app crashes, creating marketing and product experiment.

Cloud Firestore is a flexible, scalable database for mobile, web, and server development from Firebase and Google Cloud. Cloud Firestore also offers seamless integration with other Firebase and Google Cloud products, including Cloud Functions.

Is Firebase good for storage?

Firebase enables you to natively use Cloud Storage when developing web and mobile applications. Firebase Storage is an object storage service you can access via Google Cloud Platform. When using Google Firebase Storage, you can access files through references, easily upload files, and also monitor progress with tasks.

Chakra UI is a design system and UI framework created by Segun Adebayo. It was created with simplicity, modularity, composability, and accessibility in mind. Chakra UI gives you all the building blocks needed to create accessible front-end applications.

React is a free and open-source front-end JavaScript library for building user interfaces based on UI components. It is maintained by Meta and a community of individual developers and companies. React can be used as a base in the development of single-page or mobile applications.
