Description

This course will cover the following objectives/outcomes that will provide you with information:How to bring equality into immersive nature-based activitiesPlan a physically and psychologically safe environment for children and familiesSet clear negotiable and non-negotiable boundaries for your teachingLayout authentic learning experiences which engage children and their familiesDevelop uniquely designed immersive nature-based programsWe will dive into points for decision-making, ethics, communication, and most importantly your overall responsibility as an immersive nature leader. This course has rich content and interesting topics such as acknowledging fear and allowing equality for all to experience nature in their own way at their own time under your guidance and support. As the immersive nature leader, it is essential to have your own understanding of what behaviors are negotiable, and what behaviors are non-negotiable for you. Again with clarity, you will be able to communicate clearly to the people and children that you work with what your expectations actually are. When everyone is responsible for their best self, there is much more room to explore and have fun.Model reverence and respect to a rock in the same way you would to a bird egg when you discover a hidden nest in the grass. Treat every fallen butterfly wing with wonder and awe as you would while sitting next to a flower patiently waiting for a butterfly to complete its pollination duty. There is so much magic in the things we can feel but can’t yet see.
