Almost no one has heard of The Royce Raid, a little known World War 2 story. On April 11,1942 ten purloined B-25 bombers left Australia on their way to the Philippines for a series of bombing runs from which no one was expected to return. This is the tale of the Grim Reapers, also known as the 13th Bomb Squadron and a true tale in the Pacific during World War 2. The raid was overshadowed by the Doolittle Raid which occurred only a week later. Very few people have ever heard about this compelling story.
The book is a memoir of Vernon Main, a brave man that was actually on the raid and lived to tell about it.
