The One Song Piano Course: A practical approach to get adults to intermediate piano as quickly as possible

This course contains a lot of theory, but it is CHORD theory, not note-reading theory. I have found that chord theory is able to get more adults playing more music a LOT faster than note-reading. This course uses the song "Amazing Grace" to teach you a lot of techniques about chords, chord progressions, and chord substitutions. It turns out that the song Amazing Grace is a great “blank slate” to teach many, many chord concepts. In just one lesson, you can learn to play it in a simplified form using only 3 chords. With each new lesson, we add new chord, chord progression, or chord substitution. After 15 lessons and 14 versions of the song, you've learned about dominant 7ths, minor 7ths, major 7ths, 9ths, 11ths, suspended, augmented, and diminished chords. Not only have you learned to play them, but at each point I explain WHY they work in that particular place. By the end, you'll be able to use the concepts shown to you in this one song to starting making your own chord substitutions in other songs that you play adding color and complexity as you play. This course ideal for those who have a minimal foundation in music, but have struggled to progress beyond the basics or make their songs sounds full and colorful. Note reading ability is not required.
