The book was written for the sole purpose of supporting students who for some reason had to drop out of high school, or who came to this country and need a diploma or equivalent certificate of completion of their secondary education (High School). This certificate will be the gold key, that will turn on the green light needed to advance in their lives achieving their goals related to new employment positions, or continue their education in search of a better future for themselves, their families, and the community participating actively in society to elevate the social and economic level of the country.We hope the students could find in this book all the knowledge necessary to prepare to pass the math test, which is one of the main avenues to go through to reach the goal of passing the GED, HiSET, or TASC exam. The book reviews the fundamental concepts of Arithmetic, Statistics, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry needed to prepare to pass the math test. The book has been divided into eight chapters, which contain a total of 23 guiding practices with exercises and solved problems explained step by step; 24 individual practices, 17 partial tests and a general exam practice similar to the actual math test incorporated in the GED, HISET and/or TASC exams. In general, all the practices and tests in this book comes with their corresponding answers and explanations. In addition, the book includes seven annexes that consolidate important theoretical and practical aspects per every branch of the mathematic studied. Among these, Annex 7 presents a complete guide with examples to work with the functions of the authorized scientific calculator to solve part of the exam. The applicants will find in this book important tools and short cuts to work with mathematics, guided by an imaginary teacher who will help them gain confidence in their preparation to pass this exam. Finally, the book also includes important electronic links published by the organizations that administer the GED, HiSET, and TASC exams with general test information and examples given answers to popular questions related to these exams. As well are included selected links posted by private institutions that offer mathematic tools online to enrich students’ knowledge. The study of the content of this book theory and practices, in general, will become the sensors for the applicants of their progress in learning or reviewing the mathematics.
