The Hannaria Series continues with Matt Verin, Adam Verin and Jernard narrating the second book in the series. Part I of the book explains how Jernard met–and potentially murdered–Adam's ancestor, Detective Matt Verin. There's more to the story however, and the truth is revealed from Matt and Jernard's perspectives. Part II picks up where Book 1 (Out of the Gray) leaves off. After confronting Kressler and the EIP, Jernard is visited by an old friend requesting his help to rescue his wife and children from a race of ruthless aliens. After resigning from his position with the EIP, Adam's life is threatened by his own father and former colleagues who now consider him a traitor.
