I'm proud to say that I had the privilege of helping my husband transition into a crossdresser and a sissy, but I have to confess that we both made a lot of mistakes along the way. That's why I want to give you my best advice now, so that you can learn from our missteps. You probably have a lot of experience dressing up at home and in private. But your first time outside as a girl should be a special occasion. It's also very common for novice crossdressers to lose their nerve right when they are about to go outside. But once you really do work up the courage to show your female face to the world, you'll not only discover there was nothing to worry about. You'll realize that you truly are more happy and comfortable living as a girl.
If you are nervous, I need to tell you that you're not alone. Did you know that every girl is a little scared the first time she goes to the beach in a bikini? The same often goes for wearing a short skirt, a low-cut blouse, or skin-tight leggings. This is part of the experience of being a girl. When I was a little girl, I felt a little terrified to go on stage for a ballet recital in front of all the boys in just my leotard and tights. And when I got married, I really appreciated wearing a veil because I was so self-conscious about how I looked in my wedding gown. It's perfectly natural to be nervous when you first go outside fully displaying your true sexuality—as a girl.
I have a few common sense fashion tips. Don't wear high-heals unless you actually know how to walk in them. I know that crossdressers get excited about short skirts, but try to show some modesty. And in a lot of ways, girlish charm and behavior is more important than anything you happen to be wearing. And to a larger extent, being a girl is all about your relationship with people. You need to recognize the way that men are going to start to see you and the way that other women will welcome you into their circles. The good news is that you're going to start to make a lot more friends. Some of them will be girlfriends helping you to become more feminine—and you might even find a boyfriend, too! Being a girl is all about opening up. It might mean opening up your mind, opening up in certain sexual way, but mostly opening up socially to new situations, ideas, and experiences. So don't be scared to go outside as a girl. I have a funny feeling that you're really going to love it.
