I first heard of this series when a friend purchased the Rapid French for me as a birthday gift, when I was really struggling with my French pronounciation. I went out and bought the Italian version all on my own because I found it was so important to hear a few key words pronounced properly over and over again, to train my ear. I think it's important to be able to say at least "please" and "thank you" and to be able to order food and get directions when travelling, because in the really small villages, which are the best places to visit, not everyone knows English, and it's just polite to know a few words when you travel. This is a great way to learn.
