This book explores a diversity of topics related to radiometric dating, with particular emphasis on the method of radiocarbon dating and a cross-check of its results with luminescence measurements. The book includes the description of the problem of preparation of samples for 14C measurement, a wide application of the radiocarbon method and a comparison of results obtained by various methods, including the radiocarbon method, the method of OSL, TL and palynology. The issue of radiocarbon dating of mortars and plasters is thoroughly discussed in the book.

Chapters provide examples of the application of the radiocarbon method in the study of archaeological, geological sites, from the analysis of soils, loesses, to the study of organic deposits filling the depressions in the Morasko Meteorite Nature Reserve.
