    drOvBrAvE | 2013 | ISBN: 6163359259 9786163359254 | 368 pages | PDF | 8 MB

This book is the first in a series of two, and it focuses mostly on single-phase flow. An up-to-date reference for engineers and developers involved with liquid or gas pipelines and networks.

This book is primarily about single-phase flow, meaning it focuses on pipes carrying either a liquid or a gas, but not both at the same time.

    This volume:
    • Explores topics essential to studying single-phase liquid and gas pipe flow.
    • Includes a marked survey of commercially available multi- and single-phase simulation programs.
    • New, improved diagrams and formulas for more accurate friction calculations.
    • How to include junctions, bends, valves, pumps and other common components.
    • Both steady-state and transient simulations.
    • The methods are built on the very latest from numerical mathematics, fluid mechanics, software development and market studies.

The author, Dr. Ove Bratland, was awarded his PhD from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1985.
His technical qualifications cover an unusually broad range of skills, including hydraulics and pneumatics, pipe flow with special emphasis on flow assurance, flow measurement, dynamic simulations, software development, dynamic system analysis, and automation.
He has worked hands-on with most systems common to the upstream petroleum industry, particularly those found on oil rigs and subsea in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
