Thousands of years ago, the Greeks and Romans introduced a style of design that began with simple pebbles and colored stones. Today, mosaic art is a time-honored craft treasured throughout the world. Spiraling pinwheels, exploding geometrics, undulating waves, rhythmic zig-zags, and circular pathways are just some of the intriguing motifs you'll find in this imaginative collection of thirty images. Sure to satisfy creative colorists, the showcase will also serve as a source of inspiration for designers.
Review:
These designs are very much like a stained glass window since the lines are very thick. This is a wonderful feature if you want to use bigger coloring pens/markers/crayons. Little kids would even be able to handle this ok because there would be minimal 'going outside the lines'.
I am especially pleased because I have Prismacolor markers and they are just thick enough that I sometimes can't use them in Dover books. The lines are usually thinner so it will bleed through. But this book, no prob.
My only gripe about this (and all other Dover coloring books) is the pages are double sided. When using markers this means that you pick one side and the other will be useless. This is only with markers/pens though. With colored pencils this wouldn't be a problem.
