    Tanks of the USSR before the Second World War

    In this book we are talking about light tanks, but first we would like to make a brief overview of the armored forces of the USSR as a whole.

    Before World War II, the USSR had the most powerful armored forces in the world. The Red Army was armed with 23,000 light, medium and heavy tanks, none of which had yet a single state, not counting the obsolete French heavy tanks. Also, the USSR had a huge fleet of floating tanks, which were also not found in any army in the world and already at that time there were about 1,500 new tanks KV-1, KV-2 and T-34, 90% of which were deployed on the western border. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, more than 3,300 tanks took part in the attack…..
