Description
Vitamins are one of the most important element in nutrition. The main vitamins are vitamin A, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K. There are two types of vitamins fat soluble and water soluble . The water soluble vitamins needs to be replenished through food to reduce incidence of deficiency associated with it. This lecture will deal in detail about all these vitamins about their uses, RDA , food sources of the vitamins, deficiencies associated with each of these vitamins. Moreover a section is devoted to nutrient rich foods which deals with foods that are containing multiple vitamins and their intake is essential for reducing vitamin deficiency. Finally a section is devoted to scientific advancements in the field of vitamins which tells the article details about vitamins. So by taking this course public can have a good understand about vitamins and how consuming vitamin rich foods will help in diseases prevention. Studies have shown that regular uptake of vitamin rich foods helps to prevent cancers, cardiovascular disease, skin disease. The classes are taken by Dr Anandu Vijayan who is a dentist and public health specialist and has a great interest in nutrition topic. The classes are taken in a simple and understandable manner for the public to have a better understanding of vitamins
