It can be a positive light-hearted part of any language if used between two friends who both acknoledge and understand the intention behind the languge. Or, It can be very negative language if used to express contempt for a person party or idea. Decoding when the language is positive or negative is essential for the ESL learner that wishes to understand the intention of those using the language. Sarcasm is deeply rooted within the everyday use of language among every ESL learner's peers and co-workers who are native English speakers.
