    Description

There’s so much more to storytelling than just telling stories.Storytelling is ultimately about MAKING MEANING. And that’s why it’s such a hot topic, especially in the workplace!Because at work you have to make meaning everyday. You need to:communicate messages with impactinfluence your stakeholdersinspire people to take action and make change happenAnd have you ever noticed, that the best leaders you’ve ever worked with, were good at all of those things? Storytelling is an essential skill for leadership, and is the difference between someone who is just good at their job and a true leader. So in this course, we’re going to learn how to use storytelling at work! Based on my book “The Story Habit” which took me 3 years to research.Everything is based around my “Relate, Challenge, Resolve” framework and my 3 Ingredients of Stories. You’ll learn a simple, practical framework, designed specifically for use at work. After learning how to use these to find and tell stories, we then look at the other applications of storytelling you will use more frequently at work. You’ll learn how to:find and tell storieschange minds and inspire actionexplain complex ideaspresent to executive audiencespresent datadesign impactful visualsbuild executive presenceand turn storytelling into habits to bring meaning to everyday conversationsEach module is based on a simple template summarised onto one A4 page, to help you remember and apply what you learned back at work where it really matters. Important concepts about the science of storytelling are introduced at relevant times, in short fluff free videos averaging 5 minutes length. Painstakingly put together over a year, no AI was used in the making of this course!I’m a Leadership Development Coach and Trainer with over 12 years experience having worked with over 170 multinational companies and tens of thousands of people from all over the world. I’m not some film director or novelist that’s going to teach you how to use The Heroes Journey to overcomplicate your monthly reports! My whole career has been in a corporate environment with busy professionals who need to communicate simply, directly and concisely with other busy professionals.I spent a lot of time working in China, with the incredibly PRACTICAL Chinese people who have little patience for irrelevant theory. This pushed me to get really practical in my work, so I spent 6 years researching and writing a book about PRACTICAL training design and delivery, which I later turned into several highly rated online courses you can also find on here. This means I put a lot of care into making my courses PRACTICAL.How have I made this course practical?:Each module is focused on a specific goal (Find and Tell Stories, Change Minds and Inspire Action, Explain Complex Ideas etc.)All content is summarised into one simple framework with multiple applicationsI provide relatable examples, stories and case studies to show you how to apply everything to the real worldYou get simple templates to help you apply everything you learn back at workYou get handouts with detailed summaries of the concepts I cover in the videosYou also get a FREE copy of my book “The Story Habit” to help give you a much deeper understanding of the concepts we talk aboutMy goal is to get you OFF this course and out practicing in the REAL WORLD as quickly as possible. Because it is only when you try things in the real world that the REAL learning begins.I sincerely hope you find this to be a valuable resource. And please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or reflections you would love to share. All the best,Jamie Dixon
